Carburetor help

Hi, I have a 1978 C10 with a 350 and a th350 trans. The engines a goodwrench crate motor casting number 10066036. It has a 2 barrel and I would like to upgrade to a 4 barrel. I found a kit on summit racing with Edelbrock 2701 intake and Edelbrock 600cfm carb (CMB-03-0077). I’m wondering if it will work. If not, what will work? I don’t know much but I’m trying to do it myself rather than pay someone to do it for me. Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the site!

Yes that intake will work fine. 600cfm carb is plenty for a stock 350 as well.

Be sure to read up if you’ve never done this swap before. The linkages will be completely different (I’m assuming you have a quadrajet currently) so you’ll need little things there, and sealing/gasket/install of the intake is critical. You will also need to ensure vacuum lines are going to the correct ports on the new carb.

Good luck!

Re: Carburetor help

Not the right time of the year to be swapping carbs and intakes. Do it in late spring.
The intake will work but an edelbrock carb might need a fuel regulator, a heat spacer and throttle/trans brackets.
I’d opt for a 2101 and rebuilt quadrajet.
And welcome from the rain forest of Van Isle!
