1952 Chevy 3100 Pickup
 

I am rebuilding my 52 Chevy Pickup wing windows and glass channels with new precision window channel kit. Installation seem to go fairly easy but my windows are so hard to roll up. I cleaned all tracks and not sure if they will loosen up eventually.

I would check the rails to see if there is enough distance/ Clearance width between them.
There is not a whole lot of room in the access holes to do that thou.

You would probably get Better response to your issue,
If you post in the 47-59 section.

I used classic industries stuff and it was really stiff too. Just sitting in the shop with the windows up for a year it has gotten looser, it is at the point now where I stopped thinking there was something to fix, now it just feels like it needs to be worked in a bit more

Some silicon grease in the channels helps a lot.

Get something 1/4 inch thick and put it in the channel and pry it back and forth a little all around the channel. I used a piece of plexiglass about 2" by 8 or 10 inch. That channel can bend easy and could be pinched a little somewhere. It doesn't take much to make the glass tight.

PDW, thats what I was just going to recommend. the corrugated metal strip that the felt sits in, as one piece, is easily crushed so doing that would def help find any tight spots.

Silicone spray into the channel might be a little better than grease. I see it at my local hardware store and at the auto parts store too.

When I formed the channel to the glass on my '49 I noticed it kinked the sides a bit and wouldn't conform to the radius of the door.

I made a form out of 1/4" plywood for just the corners and made the radius slightly smaller than the door so when the channel had 'spring-back' from forming it matched the radius of the window/door in the corners.

I also put the channel over the plywood and used a hammer with a plastic face to flatten the kinks in the radius of the channels so it left enough room for the glass.
