1972 chevy c10 tilt column shift indicator pointer
Trying to figure out what the original shift indicator pointer looks like for my 1972 chevy c10 tilt column. Could someone share a pic of what you have on your 1972 tilt column?
Appears to be just a slide in piece of plastic. Much thanks. |

Mine was somehow broken during paint in the tilt column. Just bought a replacement. Looks and works well. Available from many vendors. Can take a pic of the replacement installed if you want. Sorry, none of original.

And here are a few more pictures showing an assembled/restored automatic tilt column with the shift indicator pointer installed. Mel :chevy:

One key detail to this Tilt-column pointer is you need to have a tight tilt coupler
(The Three screws that hold the two sections together) When I bought my used Tilt-column, it didn’t have the Indicator in it, so I bought one, It’s easy enough to install, just insert the bottom end into the slot, and put the grooved end onto the gear indicator housing. If your column is loose, it’s Easy to break that needle, (like I did ) because it will bind on a loose column when you tilt it. :smoke: So now I have a new needle that I haven’t gotten around to installing yet. Maybe this weekend:smoke: |
