Engine upgrade
I am looking to get some solid push rods and a true roller timing chain for my 350 in my 79 stepside. Can't seem to find the push rods in summit and there are a ton of timing chains to choose from. any recommendations?
Thanks Chris |

Re: Engine upgrade
Just curiously why pushrods? Lifter issues?
On a stock engine any premium double roller (like Cloyes C3023XSP) should be more than fine. To do a timing chain cover lower seal right the oil pan has to come down so may as well drop the pan and do an oil pump while it's off. (Melling standard volume is fine for stock) You may have a groove on your harmonic balancer so address that while it is off. And may as well put a new water pump on it while it's off too. |
