208 Transfer Case Rebuilt Kit/ Bearing,Chain&Gaskets
Where is the best place to buy parts for my 208-transfer case?
I will be putting new seals and gaskets for sure. Probably a chain. I will tear it down first then order parts. So, bearings will probably get replaced also. I just bought one for spare parts. So I have Extra Stuff;) |

I bought a kit from EBay about 4-5 years ago for my 205. It had all the consumables in it and was about $100.

Re: 208 Transfer Case Rebuilt Kit/ Bearing,Chain&Gaskets
Just to update.
After several days of research. From multiple places. I went with Torque King. Staff was very helpful, and the price was competitive. Shipping was free another key point I went with them. Although as an option:haha::rolleyes: They include {Shipping Assurance} You have the option to delete it.;) This sounds like a Good General Discussion Thread.:mm: I am making a fixture plate on a rolling table to build the Transfer Case. That way I don't have to roll around and wrestle with it:chevy: Thanks for the input JJH Jimmy and 57taskforce:chevy::chevy: |

I just drilled a hole in an old 4x6 I had laying around and a scissor jack on the other other side to hold it while I worked on it. It worked good.

That will work :metal:
I welded up a fixture to use on a floor jack years ago, To put a transfer case in cause of a no helper issue. Sometimes I have spare time at work, While my machine has long run times :uhmk: You heard the old saying (Idle Hands) ;) So, this is where that began. Access to a milling machine behind the Big machine I run. And a scrap plate of aluminum. And then This. Attachment 2259121 I will probably finish it up tomorrow. It's supposed to get up to 60 degrees. I will use threaded rod and spacers for the holding/leveling. My parts are scheduled to be here Tuesday. I hope to show my Nephew this process. That is part of the reason for the extra effort. |
