Best New Ralley Wheel Replica to buy - Best size to get?

Hey Guys, summers coming so I will need to buy some summer tires and rims. I like the look of the Ralley Wheel on these C10s and will be sticking to that for my truck.

Can anyone recommend a quality new remake of the Chev Ralley wheel? Also, from my research, 15x8 is the best size option or?

Cheers

I went with Vision 55 Rally wheels, 17x8 and added Vision 2531V police center caps painted white with a bowtie.

Why don't you look for a set of originals as would be cheaper and they are always poping up on Kijiji or in the various local Facebook C10 Groups.

I did a front disc brake conversion and lowered the front 3". I had 15x8 rally wheels in the front, and the tires would rub on the outer edges of the inner fenders when hitting dips in the road. I ended up switching to 15x7 rally wheels in the front to solve the rubbing issue.

Replied to your PM Greg!

I'd be open to originals but I find people are asking big prices for them and I also wanted to avoid having to refinish them. Hoping there would be some repros that are just as nice and ready to go :)

Thanks for the measurement tip, I didn't realize it's the inside you have to measure. Nice!

Oh wow, interesting! I want to drop mine 3 inches in the front as well! Did you find used 15x7's that matched or bought new?

I tried to find a pair of OE 15x7s but couldn't find any, so I had two of my 15x8s rehooped by a local wheel building shop.

PS> The rubbing depends on tire size. I am running 235/75/15 on 15x6 rim on front with 2.5 or 3" drop and it rubs. I posted about it and several replies said the tire needed to be a 215.

Another way to fix it would be a wheel with positive offset. I think all rallys are zero offset.

That was going to be my next question, what offset is stock and which offset looks best on our trucks?

The backspacing on my custom front 15x7 rims is 3-7/8" (same backspacing as OE 15x8 6-lug rally wheels) and my front tires are 215/70R15. I believe OE 15x7 6-lug rally wheels have 4" backspacing, and the 5-lug version is 3-5/8".

Depending on your drop spindles, the 8" ralleys will clear, some require trimming of the lower control arm. I have always ran 275/60 on 8" in rear and 245/60 on 8" up front without any rubbing issues with body panels. Again , depending on the drop spindle the 8" may or may not rub on the inside against lower control arm. Tall tires like the 235/75 do have issue with body panels because of their height, so if you want to stay with a 75 series tire the smaller size does matter. For the front if you keep under a 27" tall tire you should clear.

When looking at rear rally wheels, one thing to consider is the width of the rear end of your specific truck. In 1970, GM increased the rear end width by 3/4" per side. This makes OE 15x8 rally wheels stick out of the wheel wells a noticeable amount. A previous owner of my '68 had swapped in a wider '70 rear end, so I ended up finding a narrower '68 housing when I rebuilt my rear end. The first photo below is with 15x8s all around and a wider rear end. The second photo is 15x7s in the front and a narrower rear end.
