If your buying spray paint keep in mind most are lacquer. I bought the argent silver from Eastwood's. It's a real pain to use as it dries so fast it's very difficult to get a smooth finish. I finally had mine powder coated because of the finish. There is a place in Stockton, Ca that sells enamel spray cans of argent which would give you a longer working time. Here's a link.

The correct shade/hue of original Argent Silver is available from Terry Davis for use in HVLP guns.

A good powder coater should know. I buy the paint from Corvette Central. I figure it has to be right for the Corvette crowd.

Truth be known … if the color is a fraction off - 99% of the folks couldn’t tell the difference…

If you don’t have a spray gun buy a cheap harbor freight and spray the rims with single stage paint. It will look great and hold up far better than rattle can crap. You will only need a pint so shouldn’t you cost much. For the money the DuPont Nason has been great for me on two projects.
I used a pewter color for a slight change from the argent silver

That's a nice custom look. But for the correct factory look and color you don't want that much gloss. Even the metallic is rather cloudy.

The 88-98 wheels were painted the same. I have these new take-off 5-luggers and I restored a set of 8-luggers. The 8-luggers turned out a bit too glossy with the clear I used
