Anti theft?

My passenger door doesn't like my key about 50% of the time, so when opening the door for my wife, I have to run around to the driver door, pop the power door lock, run back, and open it for her.

The other day, she needed a ride to the mailbox on my way to work. The key did the usual, and didn't work. She got in the driver's side, and slid over.

Ever since that day, my driver's door won't open from the inside, so I have to roll the window down, open it from the outside handle, and roll the window back up.

Is this an anti-theft thing? (1998 C2500)

Sine the inner lock release seems to work fine, I am thinking a clip (cheap plastic, on the rod between the key lock and the door latch is missing or loose. Pull the interior panel and see what you see.

Man, I just replaced the inner handle a year ago....(the actual lever part was broken off-it was like this when I bought it)

While you pull that one to check the metal clip, hit up the dealer for a new lock cylinder on the passenger side. They can use your key or the VIN to pin it out to match. Then replace the passenger side lock cylinder since you'll have recent experiece on the driver's side. :)

Get new pawls and clips while you're at it for both lock cylinders if you plan on keeping the truck a while.
