Who sales pre bent fuel line from fuel pump too carb, info.
I have a Rochester Quadrajet 4 Barrel Carburetor original to my 1967 327 motor. Fuel line size 5/16, I'm trying to get the correct original fit line. The fuel inlet on the carb points straight forward not out and angel to the right, a 45 degree angle. It may be me but I got two wrong ones already on the self.

IIRC, only Pontiac Q-Jets have the fuel inlet coming in from the front. I don't ever remember seeing anything but passenger side inlets on Chevys.
I'd have to say the carb you have is not the original. |

Actually Buick, Olds & Pontiac had forward entry Q-jets...or at least most of them. Like mentioned, Im not aware of any Chevy with a forward entry. On the Left side of the carb will be the numbers. Check them & you will learn what you (dont) have...not the original carb.
Based on the different placements of the fuel pumps on the BOP's, you will be needing to make your own tube to fit the Chevy. Hopefully you werent too rough on the place that you were trying to buy the tube from. Ha Ha! Lorne |

Yep, what they said. Chevy and GMC Q-jet fuel inlets go right, Buick-Olds-Pontiac-Cadillac go straight. Probably going to have to make your own fuel line or get the correct carb.
Even a Holley or 2-bbl style fuel line is more for a side inlet. If your carb is good, you could probably start with a fuel line for a Holley carb and it would get closer than a Q-jet line since it is longer-but still not a working solution. Look at '67-72 Z28 or high horse small block Corvette-but they are also 3/8. Alternatively-you might try to buy a fuel line for a 1968 Cutlass with 350 and it might could be reconfigured. It would be a straight inlet and the fuel pump is on the right. |

I think I got mine from Inline tube. The vendors differentiate between those for A/C and not, however that's wrong. The difference is whether or not your fuel pump is with a return line, which they claim is for A/C, or without a return line, which they claim is without A/C.

Still say an 350/403 Olds fuel line is as close as you are going to get to fitting a front entry Q-jet on a SB Chevy with a bought pre-bent line. And even then I'm not sure you won't have interference with the thermostat housing (and whatever brackets on the passenger side of the engine if you have a/c). |

Make your own line

Re: Who sales pre bent fuel line from fuel pump too carb, info.
There are rare instances where the forward facing inlet came on GMC trucks. I have also seen Chevrolet boat motors with the forward inlets. But both of those are so rare it's unlikely any aftermarket lines would exist.
Some the late model carbs have the forward facing inlet. The 2 barrel versions of the Qjet should have a fuel line that would work for you. But it may take a trip to the wrecking yard to get one. https://www.classicindustries.com/product/2601.html https://allcarbs.com/product/rochest...-1980-chevy-2/ |
