Tailgate mat 79 truck
 

Anyone have a good suggestion for a well fitting comfortable tailgate mat. I am a short guy 5'6 and have to climb up into truck bed all the time. I use truck for storage of parts I sell online. Putting my 50 year old knees on truck bed is painful. I have a thin rug type of material on there know but it is falling apart. I would like something felt lined with a thick rubber backing. All I see is rubber mats right now. What size is a standard 79 truck tailgate?

Have you ever thought about getting a rubber mat like the restaurants use and place it on the tail gate as you get up there? They are pretty soft and pliable.

Have you thought about a Good set of Knee pads?

I had the carpeted bed liner and tailgate mat in my 86. It was nice on the knees. And I have the BedRug in my 21 Chevy Colorado. Absolutely love it!
Now if you’re just wanting something for the tailgate, may look at getting something like that. They have just the tailgate mat.
