Fuel pump install question - Fuel line too big

The fuel pump started leaking on the 307 in my 68 so I went and bought a new one. After it was installed I went to hook up the fuel line to the carb and realized the outlet on the pump is for a 5/16 line and not a 3/8. The fitting on the pump is not removeable. Would I be better off getting a different pump or is there some type of 5/16 to 3/8 hard fuel line adapter?

Easy mistake I would return it if possible and get the correct one.

I'd expect the line to the carb to be 5/16" on a 307. Do you have a Q-Jet on the engine?

It is a Rochester 2bbl. Maybe the fuel pump and lines were off of a 327? I'll see if I can find a part number on the old pump.

Not sure which 327s got 3/8" lines. Even 350s get 5/16" lines afaik.

My 71 C/20 307 with TwoJet came with the 3/8th line. I bought a sending unit for it based on everything I read it was supposed to be 5/16th but tank line was 3/8th so back it went to Wes.

Maybe air conditioning makes the difference? Grasping at straws, with that.

I have a 67 327 truck auto with ac and I have a 5/16 line from tank to carb.

Re: Fuel pump install question - Fuel line too big

I ended up finding the right pump. I checked the number off the old AC fuel pump and cross referenced it at O'Reilys and they ordered me a Precision M16050. It was for a 68 327 according to their book. Anyway it is installed and the truck is running great. The truck will now be my official daily driver starting tomorrow.
