I picked these up this weekend. Always loved the way these look.
Finally got a pair. About where did you mount your mirrors? Thanks. |
Re: Mounting reproduction / aftermarket door mirrors.
You can use the blue forum search at the top of the page and highlight 67-72chevytrucks.com. for past questions and posts.
Here is one that you’ll find: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=417037 Good luck :chevy: |
Re: Mounting reproduction / aftermarket door mirrors.
Thanks. I would use the search function, but every time I use the search, it always clears and shows me nothing.

I really like those mirrors also. I found an NOS pair on evil bay a few years ago and installed them on my 68. The passenger side mirror is located differently than the driver side. I had the original template from the NOS box but not sure I can find it anymore or I would shoot it over to you. Good luck. |
Re: Mounting reproduction / aftermarket door mirrors.
A little off the subject. I had my sport mirrors off for a few years. Trucks parked in the garage, I forever walked past the truck never hitting anything. Installed the mirrors and took the bark off my arm 3 times carrying in groceries. (so far) Sharp little boogers. Don't forget your backing plate inside the doors. Don't order the screws from Classic industries. They list the wrong screws at least for the original backing plates and the heads are incorrect. Good luck. The mirrors look great on a truck and you have lots of glass to see what they don't.

Re: Mounting reproduction / aftermarket door mirrors.
The backing plates came in different flavors. Machine screws and pointed wood type screws. Had a pair of those on my 72 because they look nice, chose to go back to the DG4/D29 mirrors that came on it for better visibility in my rebuild. As mentioned the right mirror is located further back on the stock "sport mirrors".

Managed to change mine from outside as didn't want to mess with door panel removal.

Thanks everybody for the replies. This all helps. I cringe anytime I have to drill, cut, shave, etc to any of my cars.
