Factory floor carpet differences from 67 to 72
1 Attachment(s)
My 67 gmc has carpet from the factory that is not molded like the aftermarket makes them. It is sewn together and has vinyl edging on the low hump. It also does not cover under the seat where the jack tools are located. Did they start molding the carpet in the later years? Also was there carpet under the seats factory on later years?

The only thing I can contribute is for a 69 CST/10 the carpet had strips of carpet at the door openings like yours, and there was no carpet under the bench seat like yours.

The original carpet from my '69 CST/20 with low hump and buckets/console was one piece and did not extend under the seats. Totally bare floor (not even padding) under the seats. Also note that the edge welting and carpet under the door sills was trimmed for a better fit under the sill.
Pictures of original were taken in 2014. |

That's cool
So somewhere in 69 they started to do 1 piece carpets! Anyone with factory 72 to compare to? My truck had bucket seats and also had a tank cover. I wonder if in 69 72 with bucket seats would the carpet be full Under the seat because it is more visible between the seats? |

No trucks had carpet under the seat/seats.
