Non-folding seat
 
My 1976 Custom has a non- folding bench seat. Is there a "simple" way to make it a folding bench? It has the original plaid upholstery & I don't want to mess it up.

No, it’s not possible. And here’s why. The first photo is the seat bottom frame for the Non tilt seat.
Next is the seat bottom frame for the tilt seat. As you can see, there is not provision for everything needed to make the seat tilt. Even your seat back is missing the latch.
