What/where do I adjust
To pull the front of the hood down tighter? I've managed to get it levelled left-to-right, but now it's evenly open about 3/16. the back at the cowl is perfect, and gaps everywhere are very, very good, except the hood front at the grill.
Is the latch (behind the grill) adjustable? |
Re: What/where do I adjust
Yes.
You should be able to adjust the latch down and pull the front of the hood down with that. If not, then put your own slots in it and try that. K |

Thanks Keith, I'll do some eyeballing when I get home ....:bo2:

Re: What/where do I adjust
I took it all the way down, and it did improve. I noticed that the rubber bumpers that rub the hood side of the fender were now contacting the hood enough to keep it higher. (I put these on a couple years ago, never paid attention after, but that's about when I started to notice the fitment issues).
So I took them all out, and then my hood was tilting again, but lower. Then the missus was calling me in for supper, and I'll have to play around so more tomorrow, but at least I can see the train light coming at me through the tunnel. |

Re: What/where do I adjust
I assume you tried to adjust the side to side with the front screw in bumpers, I thought you removed.
How is your gap between the fender and the hood? Maybe open that up a smidge |
Re: What/where do I adjust
With the side bumpers out, and the adjustable ones on the core support screwed-down quite a ways, one side way more than the other, and the latch adjustment all the way down, it's acceptable, just barely.
The gaps everywhere else are good, and equal. This was an accident truck, and has a 83 front clip, (it's an 87), so I guess I should be happy that it's as close as it is. |
