Any of you fellas know what this came out of? Same dimensions and plug as our trucks it looks like.

Leon, not a '57 passenger car. My '57 has the original radio in it still and it has a Chevrolet " Bowtie " emblem on the face. Also the '57 radio has a some what slanted face profile, not flat like the on in the pic. Will post up pics of my '57 radio tomorrow. That's an old school radio for sure tho as it has the Civil Defense radio station emblems on the dial.

Michael, think that may be a bit newer, maybe early '60s Chevrolet radio. Not sure when the Civil Defense emblems were dropped from radio face dials.

Found one on eBay and this is what the description said "1965 Chevy II Nova 62 63 64 Delco Push Button (AM) Radio Model #7279922."

Yeah, I wasn't 100% sure. I sold most of my Tri-Five Chevy stuff years ago.

The shafts are longer than a truck radio so the knobs will stick out. There's only a collar on the tuning side and it's shorter than that used on trucks which will make the nose protrude more than a truck radio. You could fix that by using a piece of PVC pipe (or something) to fashion a collar of the required length to surround the existing. Then you'd need a collar on the right side where there isn't one. Then you need the cups for the shaft bushings. All that pulls the chassis against the inside of the radio opening. Just try sticking it in there and see if you can live with how it looks and you'll see what you need to do.
