Ebay Posi Unit ?
1 Attachment(s)
Anybody familiar with this brand ? Fairly cheap and comes with a 1 yr. warranty

Re: Ebay Posi Unit ?
Never heard of them before. That price is less than half of an Eaton. So made in China?
I'm not made of money but I would go with a Tru-Trac. |
Re: Ebay Posi Unit ?
I'll second that. I put an Eaton Trutrac in my '67 GMC and couldn't be happier with it. Very smooth going around turns and does not require friction modifier. Sometimes you do get what you pay for.

Re: Ebay Posi Unit ?
I have run Eaton's in several trucks/cars/Jeeps over the years and currently am running 2 both in Ford 8" rear ends. Not a drag racer.... but never an issue.

Re: Ebay Posi Unit ?
Cannot make out the print in the pic. What is the item #? The trutrac is a good, smooth operating diff. But not a favorite of mine for off road as it acts the same as an open diff when you lift a wheel. All the power goes to the wheel with no traction.

Re: Ebay Posi Unit ?
If you are going to install it yourself, go for it and let us know how it works! If you are going to pay to have it installed, is it really worth saving the $200 considering how much it costs to have everything installed?
I have a Powertrax. Been a great unit so far. |
Re: Ebay Posi Unit ?
I guess I will pony up and pay the extra $ for an Eaton unit .

Re: Ebay Posi Unit ?
So much stuff is made overseas these days. But you should at least go with a brand name in hopes that they use better materials and processes than the no-name eBay stuff. Yukon Gears is a good example. They are (or were) made in India, but went through QA and final honing in the US.

Re: Ebay Posi Unit ?
That would be something I would install and never want to mess with again so I'd use a real part.
