Under bed gas tank/bed to frame bolt holes

I have moved my gas tank to under the bed. I currently do not have the bed on the truck but looks like I may run into the problem of not being able to get the rear bed bolts/to Frame installed with the gas tank sitting underneath the bed, it looks like those holes will be hard to get to when the bed goes on. Anyone had an issue with this? Thanks.

Yes. With my Boyd's welding tank, I have to drop it to access the bed bolts.

I got the Boyd's mounting kit where you put a threaded bar in the frame rail and the tank has bolts that go in from the bottom to mount the tank.

I use some replace those bolts with 6 inch long ones and can drop the tank down enough to access the bed bolts...

I have the same issue with the next to last bed bolt on the drivers side, I cannot get to it to bolt it down.
The bed is on the truck and all the other bolts are tightened down. I really do not want to drop the tank to do this one bolt.
I'm thinking just JB Weld the bolt to the bed and not worry about one bolt not being tightened.
Any issues with that?

Thanks

Same here, I have to drop the tank to access the bed bolts.
Instead of using nuts, I made a plate and welded studs on it that drop down through the frame holes to mount the tank.
That way I don't have to try and get a nut up in the frame for the gas tank mount.

Wished I had known about the Boyd mounting kit way back in this project. The tank is mounted to the frame, wired up and all the plumbing is complete and the bed is mounted all but one lone bolt.

Re: Under bed gas tank/bed to frame bolt holes

I finally gave up and unbolted the tank on one side and loosened the other side and was able to finally reach the bolt to put the nut on it.
Wasn't easy, but now the bed is completely bolted down.

Now on to figuring out how to vent the filler hose on my taillight filler (puking fuel back when I try to fill it up).

Thanks

Have some pics of your set up? I just bolted up my boyds tank over the weekend and looking to see how everyone runs their filler. I'm a ways off from that part, but never hurts to have some inspiration.

I'll get some pictures next weekend. Originally I used hosing to do this with and was not pleased with it.
I took the truck to the muffler shop to get the tailpipes put on and while it was there I had them bend some exhaust pipe to run from the filler neck on the tank to up to the filler in the taillight. That took the flexing of the hoses out.
Next task see how it fills at the gas pump. Thinking I may have to figure out how to vent to keep it from puking fuel back.

Does your Boyd's tank have a filler vent?
A few years ago I purchased the side fill version for my '70 C10. It has the rollover vent only. I recently noticed the same tank now has an additional 5/8" vent added, right next to the 2" filler neck. I imagine this helps to smooth out the filling process
