Paid subscription about to expire - Why do I loose all posting privileges
 

Hey guys,

I got notice that my paid subscription is about to expire and when it does, I can't even post comments until I pay again. Does anyone know why? It seems like everyone else can post w/o a paid subscription but not me for some reason.

I love this site and don't mind supporting it at all, me loosing posting privileges the second my subscription expires bothers me though. Help plz!

That doesn't sound right -- the only privileges you should lose are premium features like posting F/S, WTB, WIW etc. All other posts should be allowed without a paid subscription. You can send Liz a PM, or post your concerns in the Site Feedback forum. It is monitored by Admins and you should get a response there.

X2, my premium has expired before and I could still post comments.

There is still an Issue with the server Timing out.

I typed a Long response last night and PoFF it was gone.

I came back to the computer tonight and It was still in one of my Open Tabs.

It may have something to do with that (G OO Gle) stuff. ?

This has been going on for a year on my account, don't think it's google issues because as soon as I paid everything mysteriously works perfect lol

The only thing the Moderators can do in a situation like this is to notify the Administrators (they have to take care of that kind of stuff) and that is basically what you did by posting in the Site Feedback. The Administrators get an automatic notification when someone posts in that area. Not sure why you aren't getting a response.....

OP, what's the wording on your renewal notice? Last time my paid membership was set to expire, the notice said that my paid membership is about to expire and "access will be removed". Made it sound like I was about to be denied all board access -- but what I *think* it means is simply removal of all premium features, and other posting would be allowed as usual.

You'll be able to do everything you have been doing, except you will not be able to start a post in the classifieds areas. You're able to start posts/threads in the other areas, just not the sales areas. You will be able to respond to any post that has been started, including those in the sales/classifieds areas.

Also I think the amaount of total PMs you can have stored is different, but I don't remember the numbers. I always keep mine cleaned out so I have never hit the limit.

If you have issues after the expiration, hollar at one of the mods or Josh and LIz. Also remember, this is not are full time position, we do this on top of life and regular jobs.

Thanks for the info. This is totally different than loosing abilities to post in the classifieds. Since day one on this site I could not even sign up without paying. No posting at all, no replies able to be posted. If I tried to post any replies, all I would get is "you do not have privileges" I had emailed Josh and never got a reply. Finally I tried the pay option and boom everything worked normally.

Once that first subscription ended, same thing..try to do anything on the site, even a simple reply on a post and "you do not have privileges" warning came up as soon as I tried. Once I paid the subscription fee, all is well. I'm due again and the same thing will happen :(

It's not a warning, it's that since day one on this site, unless I have a paid subscription, I cannot do anything on the site. Even post a reply on a thread while it seems others do not have this issue

You subscribed before we activatez your account. It defaults to whatever level was available pre subscription. I went in a reset your account and it should be fine when the subscription expires. If not email me josh@67-72chevytrucks.com and ill correct it.

I could never do anything but read posts until I ponied up for a subscription. I think it was technically that my account was "waiting for approval"
I don't mind paying to play, but wish it were clearly stated that it's required

Never had a problem posting with or without being a premium member . Mine ran out in July so I need to renew at some point
