1968 counterpart dash cluster

I found a 8000 rpm tach cluster on Facebook. The part number is 67-9276-wth.
Does anyone know anything about this item. I can't find if it's a points tach or hei. Also if is is plug and play or is additional wiring needed to go from idiot lights to gauges. I'd guess it is a v8 tach, who'd spin a 6 cylinder to that rpm.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. As stated in the title, it is a counterpart item from around 2017, but never used.
Thanks in advance for any details.

My truck is a 1968 by the way, hence the idiot lights.

I would think you will be into wiring if you are going to a full gauge cluster from idiot lights. Any of the 67-72s could be had with lights or gauges.

points or HEI doesn't matter with a tachometer. Plug and play? I doubt it. Even a factory cluster is not plug and play going from lights to gauges. Wires have to be moved in the pigtail

Some of the tach clusters I've seen state they will not work with hei ignition. If I can get the price down I'll probably take a chance and buy it.

The factory tach also tend to be very finicky with HEI ignitions. Some folks get them to work OK, I never did. And as mentioned you'll have to do some repinning of the wires to change dash styles. If you plug in a gauge dash into an idiot light plug arrangement, you will damage some things. I believe the fuel gauge is the main one that goes kaput.

I thank everyone for their expertise. It's starting to look like I'd be better off buying one that I can get all the info on. More input is certainly welcome though.

I would try and call them to see if they can give you any insight.

I used a Counterpart tach with HEI, and it worked.

Information on converting from idiot lights to gauges can be found here
