window seals
Outer seals that wipe against the rollup window are getting crispy. I searched the forum and as of 2Y ago it didn't seem like anyone liked theirs that much.
Anyone have window seals they like, or does it just not matter that much? Threads from 2021 I found: https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=821555 https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=818122 |
Re: window seals
If your order from a forum vender like Wess @ Classic Heartbeat or GMC Pauls I think you can be assured that it is the best available. I use Classic parts a lot because they tend to have better shipping prices and results are mostly positive.

Re: window seals
I'm rather curious about this slightly modern product. it seems that it might be a nice item. https://fatfender.com/collections/ex...indow-seal-kit

Re: window seals
Subscribed. I'm looking as well. It seems that no one was really satisfied. I saw the ones at fatfender, but I'm just not sure about those. I wasn't crazy about gluing the felts in.

Re: window seals
Here is my experience with Precision. The fit was OK but required some trimming and alteration. You can't just put it in as it came out of the package. https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=738367

Re: window seals
I bought some on Classic Industries and had no problems with them.

Re: window seals
I tried LMC and Steele rubber. Both junk. I'm using Precision and have only installed the inners. Worked fine with no cutting. Tried to cut the others as they were way too long. I found them impossible to do a decent cut. Here's a pretty good Brothers video on installation. Make sure your slots in the door are flat or the trim won't be against the door like it should be.

Re: window seals
Appreciate the feedback.
Windshield started leaking, is it worth just buying the whole set and doing a "while yer at it" replacement, or do y'all just replace them as they fail? |
Re: window seals
How flexible is the windshield gasket? Or is it old and cracked? I ask because even with a new gasket it may leak. There is a black butyl rubber sealant that can be applied to seal it in the last few inches leading to the corners. Google or search on the forum for CRL windshield sealant. I have a tube of it I have not used yet but plan to use as soon as I get a round tuit.
