Help with wiring connector
3 Attachment(s)
This connector is just dangling from one of the 2 gray wires at the fuse block. I'm thinking it's for my a/c control panel since both sockets are gray wires. Yeh, I'm pretty sharp. Anyway it must plug into somewhere, but I can't find the other end. The a/c panel lights aren't working and the bulbs are good. Also, I'm assuming the light sockets ground on the sheetmetal as there is only one gray wire to each. The dangling connector has a short lead so there would be a long lead connector coming from ????

Looks like it is plugged into the cluster feed terminal. Do you have a tilt? it could be for the light in the gear selector housing.... |

Well just checked again. Had a bad ground in both light sockets. Probably old age. Tester said they were good before cleaning. My bad. Anyway I still don't know about the empty gray wire socket. Probably used the same harness with or without tilt. I'm over it now. |
Re: Help with wiring connector
There is a Clip that attaches to the dash for the ground.
It is behind the dash cluster If I remember correctly.? |

Re: Help with wiring connector
my '72 is somewhat similar, but I think mine is reversed from your set up. Mine, starting at the "Cluster Feed" on the fuse panel has two grey wires about 5 inches long, where one branches off to an empty male connector, the other travels into a nest, which goes to the back of the main gauge panel. This leaves the one male connector open for some accessories - perhaps the tilt column automatic shift selector light or, maybe the dealer installed glovebox light (?)
I somewhat recently added a tilt column but still haven't hooked up my shlft indicator light as that wire also has a male connector (someone says male to male is not compatible, I'm still trying to figure that out myself - LOL) |
