Anyone rebuilding hinges?
 

im in need of getting my upper hatch hinges rebuilt. ive tried a few times and i cant get them apart. one is so close but it wont come out..giving up. ive read they are they same process as the door hinges. i already have some hinge rebuild kits i already bought for my doors or you can supply your own. let me know if anyone wants to give these a shot. i can mail them out and pay to mail them back

You may want to post on the blazer side, I've rebuild a few sets but they are a pain. Tmend might be interested in rebuilding them for you.

maaaan im so close i have them all out except a very small piece on each hinge. im soaking them in trans fluid again to see if it helps

Try a 50/50 mix of acetone and Dexron/Mercon Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) and shake well and then submerge the hinge.

That has worked for me in the past.

Just looked it up for a reference.

And even Road Kill uses it So it has to work. ;) :lol:

thanks for the tips yall, i FINALLY got the damn pins out. i need to clean them up from where the air hammer punched everywhere lol. hoping the new ones go in easier than the old came out
