Fender Welt
 

anyone have any recent experience with using this welting between stepside fenders and the bedside ? all I can remember on the original bed is rust in between and PO may have had them off I did not see any welt ? I have looked at some older threads on the subject and appears that most of the comments are not liking the appearance im looking for some protection from the metal to metal and not convinced the welt is the answer and have the appearance issue too

When I pulled mine off all that was there was come kind of putty type caulk. I don't think they had ever been off but could be wrong.

No factory welt on stepper fenders I used 3M strip caulk Black not the stuff you get at Home Depot . The black is made for automotive use

Roger & Mark ...thanks for the info good was great detail in the threads,...Im going with the black 1/4 inch 3M Windo-Weld ribbon sealer #08610 put it on the fenders ill post the results
