Rear suspension compatibility
Hey all. I have a 67 C10 I’ve been, very slowly, working on. I have a chance at a pretty decent 65. I know the 65 is also a trailing arm suspension but I’ve got all of mine on the 67 in nice condition. Stripped and painted, new bushings, lowering springs, blocks, adjustable panhard bar, shock relocation, etc. Will all that bolt in to the 65? TIA!

Re: Rear suspension compatibility
Well, I have a 67 and just got done working on a 66. I say yes on using rear and front from a 67 on a 65 with no problems. 71 and 72s have some differences in front but besides being 5 on 5, the rears should work also unless a GMC.

Re: Rear suspension compatibility
That’s what I thought. Thanks for the verification. Greatly appreciated!

Re: Rear suspension compatibility
While they're the same basic layout, there were subtle differences.
The Panhard bar attaches in different locations @ the frame & on the rear-end housings between the two models so there can be differences/variances there. Lower shock brackets were shaped differently but share the same footprint. |
