Where to connect cigarette lighter socket light wire?

I ordered a replacement cigarette lighter socket for my 69 C20. The one that was in there was a cheap generic one that was shorted, and had no light. The one I ordered has a light in it. I took a larger fused wire straight to the battery for the supply, as I'm using a quick charger for my phone in it and didn't want to overload the single accessory circuit. Can someone point me to the proper place to connect the light wire?

I suggest PNL LTS fuse connector, that way it will switch and dim with the other instrument cluster and dash lights.

This is great. Thank you! Do you know if the original had a light?

Yes the one without the light was standard and the lighted one was an option.

Here is a link with the Part #

I have the piggyback light attachment to my Cigar Lighter. I put a red filter on it from an Autometer gauge. Looks neat at night. Oddly the fancy light is still on, but my Cigar Plug socket has no power. Need to troubleshoot that in near future.
The GPS is the main customer.
I stab the terminal into IGN Unfused on the fuse box. I put a 10@ fuse inline between the terminal and the socket. I have had the Cigar Lighter line short out and burn up insulation on other wires it was bundled up with, so now I use a fuse.
