Gaps in door weather stripping
 

When I was trying to figure out how to decrease the air pressure in my cab so that my doors close better someone recommended that I try leaving a gap in the weather stripping at the bottom of the door jamb where the kick plate is. It seems like that would cause a whistle or wind noise. What do you all think?

You could leave a floor vent open.

Thank you fro the advice. I used to have speakers where the vents are and that caused the problem with the pressure in the cab so I removed the speakers and put one way vents in there instead. My plan was to remount the speakers in the kick panels using cups that I made that would mount on the surface of the kick panel instead of recessed into it. I cant bring myself to do that because I think it might look ugly so I really want to reinstall my speakers in the vents and figure out a different way to vent the cab.

I am more trying to figure out if I will get a whistling noise than alternative solution.

Are your rear cab corners sealed up on the inside ? Because, they usually vent/drain to the outside.

The drains are there but there is a carpet there also which might be preventing air from exiting there.

Based on everyone offering alternative ways of venting the cab should I assume, that the answer to my question is YES? That if I leave gaps in my weather stripping along the bottom edge of my door I will get wind noise.

Wind noise,road noise and water intrusion. You should be able to just pull the weather strip up from the bottom section of the door opening. Close the door on it,
and go road test it. To see if it's acceptable to you or not.

Just to clarify, your having issues with your ears being boxed. When closing the doors. Not the actual physical act of closing the doors ?

When I close the door I can see the roof bulge. When I have the passenger door open or the windows down the door closes easily but when everything is shut I have to shut the door harder. I don't have any problem with it effecting my ears when I shut it from the inside.
