New caliper and hose leaking

Installed new caliper and hose and it is still leaking from the bolt where the brake hose connects to the caliper. This is my daily driver I need to get back to work tomorrow. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Missed two days this week already!

Re: New caliper and hose leaking

Ive been running into this on my 73 rebuilt calipers and sold by Rockauto. Apparently the remans use a oversized 10 mm bolt that is a 20mm length and the reman process they over bore the bolt casting in caliper to 11mm and place this 20mm bolt in. NO one I could find sells a 25-30mm 11mm bolt out there. Only about 3 threads catch after using your banjo style brake hose with both copper washers in place. I tried Nugen and then a Cardone and same. I finally bought a set of NOS Delco calipers to use original gm brake hose bolts. Perfect leak free fit like genuine GM parts! Next to that I would look for a set of original calipers that have not been bored to an off size and rebuild them.

Did you use new cooper crush washer? I’ve had leaks and had to tighten the banjo more than I was comfortable with but the leaks stopped .

New or rebuilt ? Rebuilds sometimes don’t have a smooth mating surface for the crush washer

Ive run into the same issue. They seem tight enough to nearly break off but one last umph gets it to stop leaking.

Tried that with another caliper and snapped the bolt off, going to find the oem one and pray it works because I've already installed this one which is a oreillys unit vs. the detriot axle one in photo.
