Diff-erent question
1 Attachment(s)
So I installed a new driveshaft and noticed that i’m guessing because of the 12 bolt pinion offset it is on a bit of an angle to the driver side and a little off center through hoop! I have squared up rearend in frame and measured perfect. Am I overthinking or is this normal? Sorry for crap pic,my phone sucks! Thanks

Re: Diff-erent question
Is the centreline of your motor parallel to the frame?
If not then your ds will look like that. I’ve seen motors offset an inch to the passenger side. |
Re: Diff-erent question
I measured tail of transmission is dead centre

Maybe a bit better of a pic.

Re: Diff-erent question
It's ok if the driveshaft goes off at an angle. The pinions are not always centered (you should see the offset on my 9" Ford!).
To get the pinion centered you would need different length axle shafts left and right, and manufacturers don't like the extra cost of doing that. |
