Point me to a replacement eBay carb to a 1969 i6 250
 

Hi guys,

I have heard good reviews on the replacement Rochester Monojet reproduction carbs on eBay. These things sell for around $80-120 with either a manual or electric choke.

Can someone point me to a reputable eBay dealer that sells these things.

Also, I notice that many of them on eBay are listed for 70-74 250 i6 c10. Is there any reason the carb would differ for a 1969 (I have a ‘69 c10 250) ?

It would likely be a different calibration but shouldn't be too different. I'd personally send that one to a known reputable rebuilder. I rebuild my own and buy kits from Cliff Ruggles.

You want a Rochester Monojet.
Both L6s, the 250 and 292, use Monojets, but the 292's bore was bigger. Maybe larger jet[s] too. IDK.
For a 250 either will work.
Carbs designated for '70 and later may have emissions modifications. As I recall MY '69 had an Anti Dieseling Solenoid.
My own '68 C/10 Stepside w/L25 292 L6 had a Monojet with a Manual Choke.

I don't know much more since I went to a 4 barrel carb in 1978.

I ran a polished ebay special one on my ol’e 250. It worked fine but I believe the monojet to be superior in the smoothness

The Monojet is a great carb. The only draw back is the auto-choke system. Through the years they used several different choke systems. Most of them didn't work well. The choke part of the carb must match the manifolds to work properly. There were different manifolds to match the various choke systems. The best carb to use would be the latter models with electric choke or a manual choke carb.

The Rochester monojet on my '69 I6 250 had a bent up throttle and was literally held together with baling wire. I swapped it in for a rebuilt Rochester Monojet from NationalCarburetors.com for about $280 and was totally happy with it. It arrived all clean and primed and looks like it's good for another 50 years.

You would either need the Rochester Monojet M or the MV, depending on whether you have the manual choke or the automatic choke. (I accidentally ordered the wrong one initially because I'm a newbie who knows nothing, and they were nice enough to not charge me any extra shipping or whatnot on getting the right one to me.)
