Billet Hood Hinges

Interested in feedback (pro/con) from anyone with the Eddie Motorsport, Ring Brothers, etc. billet hood hinges, especially on TF. Thanks in advance, Jim

I've seen good feedback from those who run the Eddy Motorsports hinges but they are too far out of my budget and don't fit my build plan in the least for me to ever run them.

I have a set of Eddie Motorsports hinges for my 53 3100. I haven't installed them yet but they look very well made.

I went with the All American Billet hinges. They open/close smoothly with a very light touch, hold any position with no slop/droop, and open fairly wide. Lifetime warranty too.

I have the EMS hinges on my 51,they are a much better choice than the aftermarket stock style replacements.

I will say my hood does drop sometimes, usually after it’s been closed all winter.

Overall I’m happy with them, I bought another set for my 64 Suburban project.

Really? I would think at their cost, the struts would be more dependable than that. I mean, I know things wear out (kinda why we do what we love doing here), but those should last a lifetime. Not merely for cosmetics, but better movement and dependability.

Thanks for the feedback. Cheers, Jim

I used the Eddie Motorsports billet hinges. They've worked absolutely fine for over 5 years

Hey Dan, what are you working on these days? Haven't seen you on here for a while. Do they stop the lift in the back of the hood as stock ones typically do?

Thanks, Jim

Hi, not working on much of anything. Work on the truck has stalled and I barely drive it. Too hot though I DOES have AC I've never mounted the outlets. I still love her though.

Not sure what you mean by "do they stop the lift in the back of the hood"? Are you asking if they allow the hood to rest in its "normal" position? - Yes, they do. But I didn't install them, the paint guy did.

Yeah, just wondering if they correct what stock hinges (even with new springs) do, by not pulling the back of the hood down tight. I know I'm not the only one that has to push the back of the hood down a little after closing.

Cheers, Jim

This truck had those same issues with back of the hood riding high, even with stock style new hinges/springs...I couldn't adjust it out. :waah:

These All American Billet hinges hold it down tight though. The mounts allow for a bit of adjustability...although on my setup, the holes were kinda at opposite extremes.

Edit: I don't know why the hinge pic is loading upside down...sorry.
