throttle linkage difference from 2-jet to Q-Jet?
 

So, I burned up the ol 327 in my '68 about 3 years ago:

...it must not have been too bad 'cuz I'm still driving it. However, I have been building a 350 and am very close to swapping it in. about the only thing left to do is find a 4bbl manifold with the oil filler neck and build a Quadra-jet

My question is about the throttle linkage:
is there a different rod that runs from the pedal to the carb for a Quadra-Jet?
is it the same rod?
if it's different, where can I find one?
anybody have a part number?
can I just bend one up?
would I be better off switching to a cable?
is there a kit to do that?
I don't want to get that close and wind up waiting for something to be delivered.
what are my options?

You can convert to cable. There may be an aftermarket kit available, but it's easy to do the conversion with factory parts. You will need the pedal assy from a 71 or 72, the cable, and the cable bracket that fits on the left rear carb stud/bolt. You will also need an adapter plate for the firewall. I made my own plate. I might have a pedal assembly off a square body, would that work?

I'm almost wanting to stick with the metal rod, but I'm not sure where to get the correct one.

I'm not opposed to swapping to cable, but not sure it's necessary

I did find a manifold with the oil fill tube for a reasonable price (at least I think it was reasonable)

I found a manual choke 4m quadrajet amongst my junk, so that should work fine.

That's a hot slot manifold. You'll need to use the correct gasket set with it. Most people seal off the hot slot passages that pass heat directly to the quadrajet bottom because it's better with modern gas that way. I just checked my big box of Q-jet gaskets and I have the 2 composite gaskets but no stainless plate. I do have a 1" phenolic spacer that will work, I'll check to see if the stainless plate is available too.

Can anybody provide a pic of a 67-68 factory (solid rod) throttle linkage for a Quadra-Jet?
Is it the same as the 2-jet?
Is there a part number I can look for?
I'd rather not fabricobble one, I want it to look factory, if possible.

My '70 with a BB and a Q-Jet has a solid rod, too. So maybe '67 to '70 will open up your search window? I can take a pic in the AM if you think it may help.

yeah, I wasn't sure where the cutoff is.
If you have a stock setup and wouldn't mind taking a pic, that would be helpful. I just don't want to be hung up waiting on a silly throttle linkage after I swap engines.

Here you go. The rod from the bellcrank to the carb is about 15".
