I would be very interested in seeing a K/5 or K/1500 Jimmy with an RPO L25 = 292 L6. While theoretically possible if a buyer specified that engine when ordering from the Dealer's wishbook, I have only heard of 250 L6s as the base engine if the buyer bought zero upsell.
Because the 292 required a special Diagonal-running Cross Member to catch the pass/side motor mount on the K Series frames, most dealers were loath to install them. The real money was on selling V8s, and automatic tranmissions that guaranteed the buyers would be back to the shop often, where the Dealer could pitch a newer shinier, bigger faster cooler truck than last year's model.:gmc2:
