Hi. I'm new to the forum and looking forward to discussions with you all and help on my new project. I just purchased this 55 Chevy recently and looking forward to enjoying it. The guy I purchased it from did a lot of nice work on it already. He put a Chevelle front end on it with disk brakes and a camaro 10 bolt rear end in the back. He created the stance by cutting a coil out of the front springs and put the rear end housing on top of the leaf springs. Has a great stance but not much suspension in the front. That is probably going to be my first change. Thinking about adding coil adjustable shock and a 2" drop spindle. Drives straight and great down the freeway. He added a tilt steering column, power steering and brakes. Plus he moved the fuel tank in the rear. The metal is in great shape. It has a 350 in it that he did a great job on building with all the right stuff. I competed in NHRA drag racing in super stock and set several NHRA records in my class. When he was telling what he did to the engine I told him I knew exactly what he was talking about. For instance he used a 010 block and installed hardened seats and stainless steel valves, low compression pistons, forged steel rods, and a mild cam so I can run this cheap unleaded fuel. He kept all the engine build data and every receipt for what he put on the truck. This is a great timeless treasure that I hope to have years of enjoyment with and doing some of my own personal touch to. I look forward to getting help and advise from you all. Take care Steve

SDR, I'm sure you already know this, but you can install dropped spindles and restore any suspension geometry issues. To keep that beautiful stance, you can install softer six cylinder coil springs in the front.

Welcome to the board. It's a great resource. A lot banked info in old threads that you can easily search for answers...or start a thread with a question and there will definitely be some nice folks looking to help out.

It looks like a very cool project. Take pics and post em when you can. We all like to see them...and if you got a question, pics are darn near essential.

Best luck and thanks for jumping on board!

Brad
