Chevelle Bucket Seats??
Looking for something a little different for my 66 c10. I really like the looks of old school buckets (the chrome trim is classy). I've been looking at seats and the A body seats might fit the bill. I did a bunch of searches but didn't find anything, has anyone tried these in their truck? I've never sat in one, are they comfortable?
Thanks in advance. https://www.chevelledepot.ca/image/c...de71d599bc.jpg https://www.datocms-assets.com/31486...ry.jpg?fm=webp https://www.opgi.com/product/image/O...ve-CH28322.jpg |

I like those seats too

Re: Chevelle Bucket Seats??
Funny enough I have a 69 Chevelle but it has 71 Cuda seats in it so I can't help much. I have sat in stock chevelle seats and they aren't bad but I'm bigger with a bad back so I prefer newer stuff with better support anymore.

Re: Chevelle Bucket Seats??
I'm going to be using buckets out of a '69 Camaro in my '65 C-10. They are not currently installed, but I have test fit them. They aren't going to win "the most comfortable seat" award compared to newer options, but they aren't bad. Most people's hind-parts are just more conditioned to the more cushiony seats of today. I prefer the older seats because I think they look more period correct.

Thanks for the replies, I agree the old seats have character. Do the camaro seats have the headrests? If so how far into the window do they go? Thanks again.

Re: Chevelle Bucket Seats??
Not sure how the Chevelle seats would work in a truck but the older GM '' A " body seats are to me very comfortable. By this point in time be aware they will need new foams, springs replaced, etc. Not a cheap build with covers unless you get extremely lucky finding a set. I have a set of the 69-72 style in my '71 Chevelle and a set of the '67-'68 style for my '57 2dr sedan. For preference I think the seats from the earlier Chevelles and Impalas with the chrome band across the top and sides look the best. Thinking they were used from '62 - '65. '66 seats have no folding seat latch lock. '67 - '68 seats have the side latch, '69 - '72 seats have the folding latch centered in the back. Good luck in your search.

Re: Chevelle Bucket Seats??
I put a set of '68-'72 Chevelle buckets in my '63 back in 1978 when I installed the Muncie M21, to make room for the shifter. I really liked them.

Re: Chevelle Bucket Seats??
Thanks for all the replies. If I can find a deal on a pair I think I'm going to try them out. If I do I'll post about it.

On my 67 Nova project I took the stock seats and had them redone with more bolsters. They were OK.
But in 68 project I used a set of 2012 VW GTI seats. Super nice. Got them from a local salvage yard for $350 for the pair. |
Re: Chevelle Bucket Seats??
If you had the cash it would be neat to use newer seats but then have them recovered with a classic material\pattern.

Re: Chevelle Bucket Seats??
^^^ I kind of did that with some old Nissan Hardbody pickup bucket seats. The guy patterned the stiching like a '65 Mustang at my request. They won't fool anybody who knows better, but it did give them a cool "vintage vibe" anyhow.

Re: Chevelle Bucket Seats??
Good ideas. I bought a set of GTI tartan seats for my 70 c10 they were comfortable and pretty retro looking. Unfortunately I sold the truck before i ever used them.
