Longhorn Bed Topper???
Help, help, help...searching for solution to Bed Topper for my '72 Longhorn. One solution was "Softopper" and sew-in a 6-inch strip snug to the front end next to cab's rear window. Another was make my own from PVC pipes & Sail Canvas. Another was find a Sailmaker or Upholstery shop to tackle the job. I'm fairly OK with aSpeedy-Stitcher..but anyone out there in Radioland run up against this Project. I'd rather not have a $6K new White Oak bed out in the weather anymore than I have to. I don't have a garage any more...she got it with the house and kids! Happy Vets Day to you all.

Re: Longhorn Bed Topper???
I feel your pain. Some time ago a chevy pickup passed me doing over 65 mph. The canvas was really flapping and did not look that sturdy to me. Security is important to us especially during hunting season and you lose that with a canvas topper. There are some excellent marine varnishes that are weather resistant and very durable that you could use that could showcase and help protect your oak. Good luck, Mongo4298

Re: Longhorn Bed Topper???
How about making a Custom topper of your own?
I have seen several people do this. I could not find the Exact Video I was looking for. Here is an example video of a Guy using a Long bed topper and shortening it. If you have the time and find 2 for sale cheap or Free.? Link: |
