68 Burb chassis swap with 2007 Burb?

I tried searching, didn't really find much. I've got a 1968 3/4 ton burb that's been off the road for decades. Our daily driver 2007 Burb has just been replaced with a newer car for the wife. Instead of selling the 07, which isn't worth all that much, wondering how hard it would be to use that chassis under that 68 body? The 07 has a very nice ride and new transmission. Both are 2-wheel drive. Anybody know if its been done or can link to a project?

Sorry that I can’t add any info but it sounds like it would be a huge project. Any idea how close they are in regards to wheelbase?

Most sources say the 68 is 127", some say 133", and the 07 is 130", so very close. I can easily shorten the newer chassis, not too worried about that part. Just looking at photos online, the two chassis look very similar.

I would be concerned about the track width differences.

haven't seen the 07 but I have seen the model before that used as frame swaps (99-06). good luck and post pictures if you go that route

I'm doing a '71 2wd burb onto an '02 4wd Avalanche chassis. Newer frame is about 6" wider in the rails. So, need to rework body mounts. Best to just cut off and mod the '07 mounts. Plan on shortening the frame 3". It's fully boxed, so I did a Z cut when I shortened the Av frame. I think the '07 burb should have front struts vs torsion bars. This will allow more leeway in where you make the frame cuts. Cutting forward of the gas tank will simplify the fuel system if you choose to keep as much of the '07 mechanicals. I'm in central AR if you have questions. Just PM me. If you're ever in the Little Rock area, you can stop by my shop and look at my rebuild

How is this coming along? Hoping to see an update on your build thread.
