Hood latch question
1959 truck. How does the hood latch work? I'm having trouble getting the secondary latch to latch. Close hood and first (Left side) catches but it get hung up on the right side latch. Do you need to pull on the lever while pushing down on hood or should it just catch from the weight of the hood? Hood lays flat without the latch

I just drop mine down and it latches completely. 1956
You should only have to push the lever up with your fingers when opening. Not sure if they changed the style in 59 will research. |

They changed the style in 58-59 from 55-57 BUT
The latching part looks the same. So i would expect a drop should catch both as expected. 55-57 is on the left |

Thats a fixed height so my guess is the hood latch part is not down far enough.
So adjustment is needed. |
