wiper motor help.
So I need some input on a new wiper motor and need info on the 3 types they list. I have a 68 and it lists: 1 speed 2 terminals, 2 speed 3 terminals, and then 2 speed 4 terminals that I can use. I plain on putting in a new motor and pump, but don't really no what I'm looking at. Any help from you guys is great. The truck is getting redone from ground up, the wiring kit is a american autowire kit. Thanks for your time.

Unless you are going for the utmost correct factory appearance and function, I would not recommend going with the original style washer pump. They were not very good. I use a on demand modern style pump. A lot of guys mount them near the washer reservoir. I mounted mine under the dash, so that factory appearance was retained.

I just went through a few partial days of frustration with the motor pump and switch. If you end up with the rectangular motor and associated pump I can assist. It's a simple system but most of the help treads ans schematics had errors making the journey a bit of a challenge. Some very key points. As stated above, the motor and pump positive leads are always hot when key is in run position. The switch connects 2 separate pins on motor and 1 pin on the pump. A ground strap around one of the vibration isolation pads is also required for the motor to find home poition. The color schematics on this site did not match my harness. 50 years and someone messed with the leads. I also had a 6 month old switch fail. Things got confusing till I pulled the connectors apart and traced for myself. Last point is the pump. The pump solinode is not polarity sensitive for the pump so nonissue on lead connection on the pump.

I used an 88-93 S10 washer pump/tank & pump - very happy with it. No mess under the dash.
