12 bolt being added to our 63

At another time in a Land far, far away I began collecting parts for a Hot rod truck build, one of those parts is a 12 bolt rear it has two eye on either side of the Differential I figure are for a factory four link. Our 63 has trailing arms with coil springs, can I, should I use both? thanks in advance this is new for me

You can't use both.
Either weld the truck style trailing arm mounts to that rear end or convert your truck to use 4 link like the car the axle came out of.

If there is a problem with your current rear end probably easiest to find a newer trailing arm rear end and swap.

Another item to consider... The wheel bolt patterns are vastly different..

Thanks I have swapped out my front cross member to an 83 C10, I will check the 12 bolt to be sure they match Good point indeed !

If that 12 bolt is from a passenger car, the bolt pattern is different.. Passenger car is 4.5X5, while 71 up C/10s are 5X5.. Pre '71 is 5X6...

leegreen offered the very best advice/solution.. Locate a good '71, '72 coil spring rear assembly.. It's a unbolt - bolt up project. Plus the wheel bolt pattern matches what you have on the front.

Passenger car 12bolt is 5x4.75 pattern.

Trucks were 6x5.5 or 5x5.0 depending on the year model.

71-72 12bolt 5x5 pattern rear ends are wider vs what was under a '63 so there are slight differences in back space requirements on wheels depending on final ride height.
