Interesting. I'm surprised there's enough demand for them.

I know the feeling. My project truck is outside right now, and it has been raining for the last few days.

That indicator is not even close. No Powerglide shift indicator ever said "L2". If you look at the column, you can count the detents. Five detents (PRND21) means it ain't a Powerglide, which is (PRNDL).

Re: Power glide shift indicator

I took ownership on this beauty about two weeks ago (Grand Theft Auto)
YES SIR on the not even close ! I ordered the correct lens ... Patrick so kindly verify for me sending that picture. Im hoping it fits in the chrome housing I have and on the column ..like I said Im not sure if the column is original to the truck either... you might know looking at the picture ?

Re: Power glide shift indicator

It took me about 4 readings of the thread to figure out you were thinking of ordering just the lens and changing it out in the metal holder you have on hand. Does the shifter work OK and go into the gears properly and all you are lacking is the correct lens?

Re: Power glide shift indicator

Yes sir sorry I made it so confusing …. But yes it’s the lens only the column shift works properly

Re: Power glide shift indicator

I would bet the new lens will fit. If not, it seems like a new one could be fabricated.

Re: Power glide shift indicator

L1 L2 D are on a three speed hydromatic. If it does have a powerglide you need the indicator that PHMorland showed.

Still unless you are planning on an anal to the letters on the spid restoration you will need the indicator for the transmission that will be in the truck when you go to drive it.

ok let me try to make this clear as mud the truck has a power glide in it and it came with this indicator FIRST PICTURE wrong for a PGlide

today I installed the one I had on hand SECOND PICTURE with the Park R N D L2 L1 lens in it. the chrome metal housing that will hold the same Lens

THIRD PICTURE Park R N D L the picture that Patrick sent me correct for a PGlide

I ordered a new repop one that hasn't arrived yet but when it does I will take the wrong lens Park R N D L2 L1 out it will fit the new correct one in that chrome metal housing and that problem will be addressed and solved I HOPE:lol:

and if that isn't clear here is another issue the indicator(pointer docent match the chrome metal housing I installed
so with a little research looks like the setup that was on the column is a 71-72 non tilt for a 3 speed auto trans and what I need 67-70 power glide set up are repoped and I have them on order
thanks for the input and help everyone
