As stated gents I am looking for one of these. The one I have is defective. LMC says a turn around is about 2-3 weeks.
Thanks

Re: WTB- AC center vent piece

Do you need the chrome piece as well or just the duct?

Re: WTB- AC center vent piece

Im thinking just the duct.
The chrome metallic vent part I have is new, as was the duct, but I'm pretty certain the duct tubing was assembled wrong.

I'm sure I have that duct NOS unless I sold it at Moultrie Auto Fair. I will look through my trailer tomorrow and/or wednesday. I'll let you know! Dan

Thanks guys, I bought the one pictured from a vendor in Lenexa KS. I seem to be having several problems with the quality of their parts lately. I talked to them Friday and sent them pictures but they still haven’t responded subsequent to the phone call. They are probably the SLOWEST vendor to ship items out but that’s another issue.
Depending on what you guys are asking, including shipping, will help me make a decision but I can’t complete my dash without that one part.

NOS scares me lol. Besides I’m going to cap off one side of it anyhow and it will never be seen, hopefully…

Thanks for your reply! No need to modify NOS stuff. Good Luck with your build! Thanks, Dan

Once I talk to the vendor in Lenexa tomorrow if they don’t right this I’ll probably reach out to Classic. I have an order with them already I can add that too. Thanks for the link, I didn’t know those were even made.

You can get the rubber pipe cap at lowes or Home Depot for a couple bucks, it’s nothing special. I did this years ago.

Score! I made call to a friend and he said let me call you back and then, here you go. I capped it off and Installed it. Just one more bite taken out of the elephant. He doesn’t even have a 67-72 c/k…

Yes I purchased a set of caps a while back and I did cap the driver side of the vent. It went here…

Yes, but why cap off one side?

The stock duct adapter with the two air inlets pointing at each other creates turbulence at the outlet reducing velocity, reducing airflow. Eliminating the air duct on one side reduces turbulence introduced by the air stream, but does not address the odd shaped adapter still messing with the airstream. The adapter I linked to further addresses the adapter by making it a coned shape. Ideally the single larger duct should go the vent. This would allow more volume with less air speed. Air speed would just increase at vent outlet. I have a design for my ideal adapter, just no way to make it.

I have over 40 years in the hvac business. Designed and installed air distribution systems (ducting) for custom homes, existing home retrofits and corrections and commercial applications. So my answer may have been to much.
Simple answer- to improve airflow
