Then and now.

Oldest son from 1 to 21! He's been in the Air Force 3.5 years and is home for Christmas. The first thing he wanted to do was take the truck out for a drive. I've had this truck years before my sons were born so they have literally grown up in it.

A Big Thanks for your Service. Enjoy your leave and the Truck. My boys grew up with my truck too. I’ve had it 36 years and the boys are 38 & 40. They both drove it to high school and still ask to take it for a ride all the time. Merry Christmas and Hopes for a Great New Year

Re: Then and now.
Thank you guys for all the great responses to my post. He will be headed back to England Saturday after being home 2 weeks. Never easy seeing him leave and at the same time very proud of him for serving his country. The man he has become over the last few years would make any parent proud. Remember him and all of our troops in you thoughts and prayers.

Re: Then and now.
This post made me smile! My son is almost 30 and loved riding in my truck when he was a toddler. He loves to take it for a spin when he can now.

Re: Then and now.
Post up a picture of the truck!

My son had much the same scenario. He was six weeks old (my daughter was 3) when I bought “the Truck”, a he literally grew up in/on/under it. It was a defining moment in his life, the day (summer 2009) I told him we were going to the Auto Parts Store, and that he was driving. To this day, he STILL remembers that moment, like it happened yesterday. And today, he’s an M-1 Abrams mechanic on Active duty:metal: |
Re: Then and now.
Heh, all good stories! I should ask my wife to find the picture of my eldest son at age 1 standing on the front seat of our '56 Chevy wagon, bouncing up and down like he was steering it. Snuck out into the garage... Good thing he didn't have the keys! Same car, my wife went into a store and he pulled it out of park, sitting in his car seat -long arms like his dad- and it started to roll. MiL dived over the seat and stuffed it into park. He's a Tech Sergeant in the USAF, now.
