Re: Need help for v belts part numbers
Belt numbers indicate the belt length. So the PS belt shown is 15356 15/32 wide and 35.6 inches long. The 25-7555 is 10mm wide and 55.5'' long ( I don't know what the 7 means) and the alternator belt is usually 52.5 long, but I recently installed an alt upgrade to a 1 wire on a truck and the belt length needed was a little longer and I still had to force it on a little at 53'' long so it took a 15530. Hope that helps. The gates shown before this post shows a 7525 --7/16'' wide and 52.5 long

Re: Need help for v belts part numbers
If worse comes to worse, wrap a rope around it and measure to get a starting point for a belt length.

Also agree with the suggestion to measure the path with a rope or tape measure. Belt length is measured at the outside edge of the pulleys. |

Re: Need help for v belts part numbers
As information only the X in the number is for the clogs on the inside of the belt.
it makes no difference on the sizing. They are rated for smaller diameter pulleys and higher HP than the belts with the smooth inner. Either with or with out the X in the umber will function fine. I believe this "X" type of belt was invented after out trucks were made. OEM belts of this era were all smooth on the inside. Cheers |
