Bench Seat measurements

Question for you guys reguarding factory bench seats..

I got lowback seats in my 69, not sure what they’re from they were installed in the truck when I bought it, but I’d like to swap to a bench so I can take my lady and my son at the same time. My issue is that the previous owner also installed a floor shifter so I’m looking for a measurement of the back of the cab to the very front of the bench seat to see if I’ll be able to fit one without moving the shifter.

I do not have the gas tank in the cab it’s been relocated to the rear.

Any input would be great

I can get a measurement after work today, but I still have the tank behind the seat. Also, do you want the measurement with the seat all the way back?

Ok I will take a measurement when I get home and post it here. Do you want the measurement from the back wall of the cab to the front of the bottom cushion?

Yes, the back of the cab behinds gas tank to wherever the front of the actual seat would end

Keep in mind the seats usually hit the panel above tank and below rear window before it hits the tank.

I measured on the right side of the seat so the tank is not in the way. I got 29” from the back of the cab to the front edge of the bottom seat cushion. The seat is non-folding with it all the way back. You’re right the back of the seat at the top does hit the cab before it hits the tank.

I have a Muncie M21 and a bench seat in mine. Not sure what trans you’re running but I could take some measurements of the shifter location in relation to the seat if that would help. The Muncie shifter location sits pretty far back but it clears the bench without issues.

Measurement from the dash to the seat (I still have the tank in the cab so it’s hard to get those numbers, but you can see where the shifter lands)

I was just gonna say, if the seat is installed, it's easier to measure from front of seat to the dash.
Also for height of seat if you measure from a point on the seat ( either the seat part, or top of back part ) to the inside of the roof, or a point on the dash.
I eventually figured this out after trying to measure from the floor to the top and front of the seat with it installed.
You know the cabs are all the same. Using the points I mentioned are more accessible with nothing in the way.
If installing a non stock seat, with the seat removed you can then measure from your reference points ( dash, roof, whatever ) to the floor to figure out whatever mounting hardware modifications you have to do.
