Engine Crossmember?
1 Attachment(s)
This is the engine crossmember that came in my 1966 GMC Suburban 4WD. Is it stock? The top two bolts on each side were bolted to the upper frame rail but the bottom holes did not line up and the were tack welded to the lower frame rails. I’m trying to make sure I have an original crossmember and go from there as I am going to attempt to put an LS motor in. Is there a better way to go about that swap?

Re: Engine Crossmember?
Just so you're not shouting at the wind; I found this link with frame photos of another GMC 4wd.
It might add some clarity as far as the crossmember being original which I'm guessing it is not. I also searched the Parts sections looking for originals as well and did not find anything that looked like your photo. https://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vbo...rossmember+4wd |
Re: Engine Crossmember?
Not stock. The crossmember looks like a 67-69 GMC 4x4 with V-6.
