Anyone have before/after results for CPP 1” drop springs?

Looking at the space between the rear tire to fender, and the front tire to fender distance, I’d like to drop the front another inch or two.

I already have 3” dropped A-arms, and don’t want to screw up the wheel alignment too bad, but sitting 1” lower would look better...

Do the 1” springs give 1” drop?
Is it possible that the stock springs are already weak, (factory BB truck) and by installing the 1” drop spring may have no drop at all?

Thanks!

perhaps this might help a little - I just installed CPP 2" drop springs in the front of my '72 C10 and it dropped me exactly 1-1/2 inches. It's only been one week so their might be more settling in the future.

Well that’s good to know for sure.
I could possibly drop it an inch with a torch I guess...it would be a lot faster than pulling the front end apart just to find that the springs dropped it 1/4” or something.

Your oem springs have most likely dropped all by themselves . My 68 with 3 inch drop springs went down about two and a half inches . It’s not an exact science

I think most here would suggest trimming the springs instead of putting a torch to them.

Torching the spring could weaken them and they could break while you are driving also you are taking a guess as to what height torching them will give you.

If I saved up, I’d just do the Wilwood Pro spindles an 14” brakes.
Not sure if I’d like the 2 1/2” extra drop though.

I put CPP 1" springs in the front of my 6 cylinder truck last summer. They dropped it 0" so there was at least an inch of sag in the stock springs already.

.

This will be my next major upgrade. In fact, I've already purchased a new set of Wilwood Pro Spindles to replace my existing 2 1/2" drop units from a member here a few years ago. Now it's the bigger number bits I need to source...been looking through the SummitRacing 'scratch-n-dent' section as often as I can...
