Another alternator question CS144
I hate to write this as I'm absolutely sure this has been addressed and I am completely missing it somewhere... But I'm currently swapping the engine in my 71 GMC K2500 and have decided to go with a serpentine belt system, the brackets I got are from a 91 Suburban and have the CS130 mount on the driver's side. I have been scouring this forum and the internet and have not been able to find a bracket to convert from the CS130 to either a CS144 or an older 12si. I have found references to a bracket that supposedly went on a Caprice Police car but no reference to year or application. I've also found reference to using a mid 90s Impala SS alternator but they all look to have the 6/12 o clock mounting holes. Does such a bracket exist or? Is there a CS144 with the "narrow(er)" mounting option? Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is one of the final steps I need to secure before I throw the new engine in my truck. Thank you guys for all the help, this place is an amazing knowledgeable repository.

Re: Another alternator question CS144
My 2006 Chevy van 3500 came with a DR446 which is 145 amps.
Better have number 4 cables as 8 is to small .I'm wiring it like a mid 90's Chevy with the terminal block on the fire wall. I also got some #4 wire with fuesable endse |

You could take a look at either one of these, they are oreilly part numbers. Either r111937a or r111948a. They look to have the narrower mounting points.

Re: Another alternator question CS144
So final update, a CS144 off of a 2000 Cadillac Escalade works with minor modifications. The passenger side of the Alternator bracket needs to be bored/drilled out minorly. I used a 5/16 grade 8 bolt and nut 2-3/4" long and it works well so far with a 1 inch longer serpentine belt. You results may vary and time will tell.
