I guess everyone has only opinions. I guess if BFG quit making their KO2's and I needed some tires I would lean towards the Dick Cepek's Fun Country or Extreme Country. I like the look of the Cooper SST or something like that but they are much more expensive than the BFG's. I like the General Grabbers too and I have a couple sets of those. No complaints there. I recently looked at some Patagonia all terrains for my truck. They look nice and beefy but they only offer them in wide sizes and not the 235/85r16's that I wanted. Those are the only tires that strike my fancy.

BF Goodrich still makes the AT it is now the KO3. I too switched from the BFG KO AT to the Toyo Open Country Trail and couldn't be happier. I did some really tough trails just after buying them and was surprised how well they can climb.

Toyos last a lot longer than the BFG’s in my experience over the 10 or more sets of tires. The 35x12.5r20 toyo muds on my K2500 have about 50,000 on them and I can probably get atleast another 10,000 out of them. I’ve always been lucky to get 40,000 out of the bfgs.

I had really good luck with my Goodyear Duratracs, as have my parents on multiple trucks. I am really looking at the BFG HD TA KT. They are a newer tire though so it is hard to get real reviews.

For the OP this is a shot of new Toyo 295/75-16. This is on a 2" Rough Country lift. They are 33.5 diameter.

Off brand buyer here. Usually something made by bigger company so I have been buying mastercraft CXT's for a bit but in a AT I have been wanting to check out Venom Power Swampthings. They come in a 315\75R16 and I've seen few places say 55k treadlife warranty on them. Problem is in person I have only seen VP tires in ridiculous sizes like 35x14.5R26 or something but the 315's look pretty good, dunno if you would be willing to take a chance on them. They also have Terra hunter XT and XT2 that look very similar to BFG KO tread pattern at center then have their own shoulder lug design. XT stop at 285\75R16 for a 16 rim, then go to 35x10.5R17 or 35x12.5R17. Main difference I saw is no 35x12.5R17 in the XT2. Warranty is 50k treadlife I believe.

Super Swampers on the Stepside and Mickey Thompson's on the S10. Mickey has some really nice tread for what ever you want and they wear good.

GSP7 did you ever get decide on tires? Any update on how you like them?
I have had the BFG HD KT's in 285/70r17 for about a year now and around 15,000 miles. They are heavy and slightly affected gas mileage, but are great in mud and snow and better than the average mud terrain in ice and rain. They are loudish on the road, but it is a truck. This seems to be a pretty good aggressive tire on a 3/4 ton. The sidewalls also seem to be pretty still, although not bad enough to affect the ride. Here's some pics |

Another new set of Toyo MT’s. The set that came off had about 62,000 miles on them, could have probably gone another 5,000 if I wanted too. All on a big block 2500 HD gmt 400.
