CVF Billet Hinges

I've searched and read through many happy reviews of the CVF hinges for the 67-72 C10s.

What I haven't been able to find is if they clear the tires when you lay crossmember.

I already have my fenders out and will be putting new ones in, much closer to the hood. It looks like they have much less interference than the large factory hinges, however I'd hate to drop $600 and find out I need the Porterbuilt or similar hinge instead. I also really don't want to cut and seam seal by the cowl, if I don't have to.

U are correct on the hinges themselves. They make lining up a hood much easier. As to what u want to know, do u have a replacement inner fender picked out? There are several to choose from and wanted to know which 1 you were going with.

Going to cut a tandem trailer fender in two for fenders. That's the plan at least. Inner fenders out already, however I caved and bought the Switch Suspension cowl mounted hinges over the weekend. They cost less than the CVF billets, but take more work to install and dont look as cool. I know they will be out of the way however and won't need to notch the new fenders for a hinge either.

Have to move some wiring and relocate the new s10 windshield reservoir as well to make room. But a little at a time. Waiting to trim the actual fender until I get correct rims and tires. Don't want to cut what I don't need ro.

If you are trying to laying frame...any hinges that go in the stock location will not work. especially if your going with a big wheel. Go with the firewall mounted hinges.

Just going for crossmember honestly. I don't want to buy a dropmember or Z the frame as of yet. If I can get her level and touching somewhere I'll be good for a while, lol.

If you are on instagram, look up Cory Ivey. He’s not laying frame but the auto cross guys are 4.5 inches away from it. He is running that hinge and has the fenders all the way up. The bottom has a curve to it so it does give a lot more clearance over the stock one. Now, his fenders are not like yours but I say this for a reference. Just an idea, you can put the washer jug on the core support or get a small round one from someone like summit racing.

I looked last night and I think the reservoir is small enough to fit to the right of the radiator, opposite side of the engine bay as the battery.
